Eri Shoji, MD, is currently training as a psychiatry resident in Texas. She is also a staff physician at Juntendo University Department of Psychiatry in Tokyo. After receiving her medical degree and completing initial postgraduate training in Japan, she took the leap to pursue psychiatry in the United States. The cultural diversity and advanced sub-specialty training opportunities the U.S. offered inspired her to do so. She has also spent time in Northern England, Thailand, and Singapore, as she loves to learn the way of life in various countries and consider its impact on medical practice and education. Her hobbies include playing classical piano, nature trails, and caring for animals.
