Albert Yeung, MD, ScD

Albert Yeung, MD, ScD, is the Director of Primary Care Research at the MGH Depression Clinical and Research Program and Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He is also a staff psychiatrist and co-medical director at South Cove Community Health Center, which serves the Asian immigrant community in Boston. Dr. Yeung's major research interests include integrating primary care and mental health services to improve treatment of depression, mental health of under-served populations, and the use of complementary and alternative methods for treating mood and anxiety disorders. He received a research training award from the Program for Minority Research Training in Psychiatry of the American Psychiatric Association Office of Research. In 2003, he was awarded a "Partners in Excellence Award" from Partners Health Care, Inc. He is the recipient of a Career Development Award (2003-2008) and a RO1 Research Award, both from the National Institute of Mental Health. He has authored or co-authored over 90 original papers and book chapters, and a book on self-management of depression. Dr. Yeung obtained his medical degree from National Taiwan University. He also obtained a Doctor of Science degree in epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health. He completed residency training in psychiatry at MGH. He has worked as a staff psychiatrist at MGH since completion of his residency training.
